My Speil:

I’m known for being a blue-collar, Swiss Army, no-ego creative writer. I’m happy to scale up or down to slot into any role that gets the job done.

As a director, I’ve succeeded in all the normal creative advertising activities people talk about: I’ve directed multi-disciplinary teams from concept to implementation. I’ve written, directed, and produced multichannel campaigns for large, multinational brands. And I’ve had too much to drink at the agency holiday party (in my younger days). But what drives me today is sowing tight bonds with others by sharing in the creation of honest and effective work that makes our clients shine.

As a writer, Im a mutli-tool creative asset. I can spitball headlines for display ads, get buried in the nitty-gritty of brand strategy, or sweat the minutiae of pharma copy. I stay grounded in the fact that we’re solving real business problems for clients who have put a lot of trust (and money) in us. That’s not to say we can’t be creative and even have fun, but it does mean we never lose sight of our true north: Client success.

After a decade in creative departments, I believed I could build a business model that made more sense to more people. bond is a no-nonsense approach to doing smart, effective work. We help agencies get a fresh perspective and companies get creative solutions that were previously out of reach.

I led a creative team of designers, art directors, animators, and writers to uphold creative excellence. That can mean a lot of things. It meant I worked closely with account leadership and clients to turn business objectives into creative strategy. It meant I guided creative execution so that it aligned with our clients’ goals.  It meant I presented work to clients and pitched new clients. And it meant I took ownership of the professional development of our creative team. Sometimes it just meant I bought pizza for lunch. Whatever it takes to do great creative work, I’m game.

I crafted brand and product messaging over cross-platform media for pharmaceutical clients, with a focus on oncology products and support services. In addition to maintaining brands, I helped launch new brands from the concepting phase through implementation. This role required me to find a balance between discipline and creativity.

This type of work suits me because I like to bury myself in things completely unknown. Learning new stuff is fun. Limited Brands, April 2000 - March 2002

I wrote descriptive copy for the fashion industry. My role was to analyze and report on the in-store marketing trends of prominent retail competitors of Limited Brands. I reviewed images from retail location in various global markets and compared them to the efforts of retailers within Limited Brands. I then wrote descriptions for what trends seemed to be emerging and which were fading. This position showed me that good, concise writing comes from clear analytical thinking.
